The television executives have apparently decided to nix the popular High-Stakes Poker Show even though the show has been known as a success and continues to attract numerous viewers. The land online casinos gambling industry have benefited from the increased enthusiasm in poker shown by Americans in the last few years, but the television networks may not have as much faith in holding a viewers interest with a poker show.

The format of the show used top land and online casinos poker gambling professionals, all well-known in the industry, and pitted those players against each other to compete from prize pools ranging from $100,000 to even $1 million. Some of pros gambling on the show in the past include Sammy Farha, Daniel Negreanu, and Doyle Brunson (who has his own online casinos poker gambling site). These pros competed in cash games, which was a welcomed alternative for some viewers to the longevity associated with tournament games and other forms of poker. The WSOP is one of the most popular televised poker tourneys and spans days and months of television viewing.

As for the current High Stakes Poker show on the US Game Show Network, there seems to be little hope. Land and online casinos viewers will have to content themselves with new content from the network because “apparently the network is going to go in a different direction and that ain’t good news for our show,” comments the show’s co-host AJ Benza. The networks will officially announce the new lineups in the coming weeks, but word on the street is that viewers shouldn’t hold their breaths that the show will be around for another season.
