Last months “Responsible Gaming Day” welcomed those related to the intenret gambling industry to partake in a collaborative effort to affect change in some of the problem areas of the online casinos gambling industry. The event took place at the European Parliament and welcomed some of the top names in the gambling industry to participate and share concerns and ideas for change. Watchdog and player advocacy groups were also present at the event, as were some of the top politicians and online casinos gambling executives in the industry.
All of the keynote speakers and industry representatives presenting at the event focused on the one central idea: responsible gambling in the European Union must be a collaborative effort between the all parties involved in the online casinos gambling industry from the companies, to the politicians, to the support groups.
The Chairman of the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA), Norbert Teufelberger commented on that very central idea. Specifically noting that every level of the online casinos gambling industry will have to work together in the hopes of finding an effective solution to some of the problems. Teufelberger remarks, “No matter how much we do, no matter how many rules we put into place, and no matter how good we are – no solution will be optimal if it is not inclusive and based on the full cooperation and commitment of all stakeholders.”
The “Responsible Gaming Day” was the first of what may very well become an annual event as the online casinos gambling industry works to really take hold of the concept of practicing responsible gambling.
