Free Online Poker Room to be Launched by Diamond I

U.S. citizens probably know by now that all it takes to gamble for real money online is too search around a bit. It's common news that since the passing of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA), which has thus far remained a highly ineffective piece of legislation, many reputable and licensed online casinos have kept their doors open to U.S. players. In other words, since the UIGEA, although there are indeed fewer banking options and online casinos to choose from, it's still business as usual.

Some companies, however, like Diamond I Inc., are trying to make money within the constraints of the UIGEA. Instead of profiting off of the Casinos Edge, which is some profit let me tell you, Diamond I is seeking to profit off of click-through advertising, like that offered through Amazon...which is some profit let me tell you. Either way you look at it, sounds like a smart business venture.

Here's how they plan to make it work. Diamond I is offering a free online casino gaming platform, with the main attraction being poker. Since lots of players like to practice up before playing with real money, while a smaller percentage just like to play for the fun of it, Diamond I expects to get enough traffic to catch the eye of advertisers and even get some click-through traffic from its visitors. Apparently, the model has proven effective so far with Diamond's first site, Diamond Blue Casino. Now, Diamond I says plans are in the making to launch another online casino on March 25 - just days away.

Serious online gamblers and poker players should be inclined to scoff at Diamond's attempt to diversify on the internet. Everybody knows that the best poker rooms (yes, even those that accept U.S. players), offer play-for-fun accounts that let user's play a whole series of poker games and tournaments with unlimited free chips. At any time one wants to move over to the real money platform, they can do so by making a quick deposit. Besides, most players these days shy away from free online poker, because players do not behave like they normally would with real money. In other words, it is not as an effective way to practice or learn the game as you might think. One of the best ways is to participate in free roll tournaments, which do not impose any fees.

And if Diamond I thinks they are going to get a ton of traffic off players searching for free online casino games, think again. They may get some traffic, but once again, all of the best online casinos out there already have a play-for-fun software platform that mirrors the real thing.
